French Teen Idol

I've been enjoying French Teen Idol lately which are an instrumental solo-project run by the Roman artist Andrea Di Carlo.

Their music is described as an elegant mix of post-rock and electronic influences, French Teen Idol’s music provides the listener with cinematic landscapes, dramatic crescendos and striking vocal samples. I found them to be a bit like early Moby with clever mixing of film samples making some great tunes.

Boa & The Super Vixens

Now what do you get if Jim Morrison had a punch up with Roger Waters over the rights to be lead singer , somehow I think the Lizard King would be pretty nasty with a glass in hand looking for the next whisky bar. Well the result might have been Boa & The Super Vixens a great psychedelic rock group form in 2000 by five college students in Charlottesville, Virginia, US and A. They recorded a couple of demos and played at most of the music-friendly venues in town until it was time to move on their separate ways in 2004.

Even though they no longer exist as a group the demo music lives on which is well worth a listen with grinding hypnotic sweeping melodies, echoing cult like guitars, the vocals are hard to make out but who cares its all just tone and feeling, radiohead never got where they are today by using queens english pronunciation ;)
